De seneste par måneders tid har vi arbejdet med et spændende projekt for Danmark's hurtigst voksende oversættelsesbureau. I starten af August blev vi kontaktet af Frederik R. Pedersen og Peter Ladegaard fra EasyTranslate omkring en version 2 af deres første ennovation hjemmeside. Det nye site skulle ændre hele processen i hvordan en oversættelse nemt skulle kunne administreres via deres hjemmeside, og skabe en hurtig forbindelse mellem den individuelle oversætter og kunden. Efter et par måneders udvikling kom vi frem med ET-Connect som er grundled i hele oversættelsesprocessen.

Designet blev leveret til ennovation af EasyTranslate's egen grafikker, og vi omdannede en Photoshop PSD fil til et Joomla CMS webdesign. Sitet er W3C XHTML og CSS godkendt.

ET-Connect
Det endelige system vi udviklede tillader en kunde at oprette en oversættelsesordre og derefter vil deres projekt blive sendt videre til EasyTranslate som derefter har muligheden for at sætte den rette oversætter på projektet. Kunden får derefter en email hvori der står at de kan uploade deres dokument og det gør de så i ET-Connect. Efter kunden har uploadet sit dokument er det til rådighed for oversætteren som har mulighed for at oversætte dokumentet og uploade det færdige dokument til kunden. Dokumentet downloades derefter og kunden bliver bedt om at udføre en betaling af ordren. Så simpelt er det.

Da systemet vil blive mødt af en lang række brugere så vi det som et krav at give dem nogle instrukser til hvordan de foretag en ordre osv. Vi udviklede derfor en gennemgangsvideo som hver bruger har mulighed for at se hvis de kommer i tvivl om hvor vidt de er på rette vej. Denne løsning har været et godt visuelt alternativ til en kedelig brugermanual, og i sidste ende vil det også gavne konverteringer da en veluddannet bruger vil føle sig langt tryggere efter at have set videoen.

Many refer to the Internet and the World Wide Web as the same thing, but actually its not. Where the Internet is a network of networks connecting millions of computers, the "Web" is a way of accessing information over the medium of the Internet. Something important to remember about the WWW is that it is not static, meaning that there is no final product as it is in a constant state of development. Not only as the number of users and websites continue to grow at a phenomenol rate, but the technology is continously progressing as well, whilst the data is becoming more and more dynamic.

Website development is an exiting field to be involved in at the curren point in time, but the great offering of technologies at various costs can make the playing field rather uneven. Thank god for OpenSource!

An end user may experience the WWW very differently from one another due to the fact that:

• access speeds can vary from modems at the slow end of 28.8kbps to high-speed fiber optics hitting 100mbps
• older browsers lack support of some multimedia and lack the ability to display newer scripting instructions
• monitors of various sizes and resolutions affect the way your site may be displayed
• dissabilities may require the need for accessible sites
• the processing power of computers
• and the lack of telecomunications in some areas excludes some users completely

Webdesigners must therefore find the "middle way", creating websites which are accessible to the majority, without sacrificing the multimedia that is often implemented in order to attract users. I have visited so many websites reading about companies blabbering on about how trustworthy a company they are, that you could trust all your savings to them. As if trustworthiness is some form of characteristic that they possess. That is one of the greatest misconceptions that trustworthiness is something that you automatically can contribute to all your services and offerings.

Its understandable that companies see themselves as trustworthy - what better than to make the consumer feel that they can safely buy that €200 pair of sunglasses, or that €18.000 water cleaning system. The word "trustworthy" is becoming more and more abused as e-commerce continues to boom.

I went to my dictionary and looked up the word and found the following: 

trust-wor-thy (adjective): able to be relied on as honest or truthful

Trustworthiness is the sum of all your actions that in the end contribute to making your company "trustworthy". The written and visual elements of your website all contribute to being a relied upon source, stray once - and you will be duly punished. Webdesign contributes greatly to creating a sense of trustworthiness, but it is also necessary to reflect on the fact that poor design can and will often lead to your company being labelled as "unreliable".

First and foremost, trustworthy webdesign needs to appeal to your target group. If you are designing a site aimed at an inexperienced user group then you must take into consideration their abilities. If you manage to master this then you will unlock the path to earning their trust.

Secondly, your design (including your code) needs to be cross-browser complaint. Why should a person viewing your site in IE 7 be seeing sharp corners where a person in Safari is seeing nice rounded corners. Making sure that your site is appearing the (almost) same way everytime called upon will again add to your trustworthiness factor.

Thirdly, endorsements by big brands that have built up their trustworthiness factor contribute immensely to you. For example, an e-commerce stamp of approval from a dedicated organization, or simply a Verified by Visa logo.

Igennem det seneste år har ennovation og Jacob Rathsach (Beostæren) arbejdet på at markedsføre hvad der skal blive Danmarks førende forretning inden for brugt Bang & Olufsen.

Tilbage i starten af 2009 henvendte Jacob sig til ennovation for at høre nærmere om vores webløsninger og introducerede et spændende projekt, “Beostæren”. Opgaven lød på logo design, udarbejdelse af visitkort og en stilren hjemmeside. Hjemmesiden skulle være brugervenlig, så de ansatte i Beostæren nemt kan tilføje nye produkter, som skal sælges i web-shoppen.

Den færdige løsning, hjemmesiden og logo kan ses på beostaeren.dk. Efter opstarten af den nye butik på Østerbrogade 93, 2100 København Ø henvendte Jacob sig igen og skulle nu bruge butiksskilte til facaden. En uge senere, var butikken på Østerbrogade udsmykket med facadeskilte som førte forretningens online identitet ud i fysisk tilstand.

Det blev februar, og Jacob ønskede at der skulle endnu mere gang i forretningen. Efter at ennovation have foretaget søgemaskineoptimering af sitet begyndte trafikken at stige  og med tilføjelsen af en AdWords kampagne begyndte der rigtigt at komme gang i butikken

AdWords kampagnens formål var at sørge for at potentielle kunder købte  brugt B&O udstyr hos Beostæren og ikke hos lignende konkurrenter på markedet. Den første uge blev det til næsten 200 relevante "klik" på hjemmesiden og ifølge Jacob selv kan det mærkes i butikken:

“Vores telefon ringer konstant, og forleden havde vi en kunde fra Tyrkiet som fandt os på nettet om aftenen, dagen efter stod han i butikken og købte et par højtalere som han tog med på vejen til lufthavnen, på vej tilbage til Tyrkiet”

For Beostæren har en lille investering i AdWords klik resulteret i at der er blevet købt for et beløb der sætter smil på læben når man tænker på at man har reklameret for 18kr.

Fremtiden ser lys ud for Beostæren der har potentialet og ambitionen om at blive Danmarks førende forhandler af brugt B&O – og inden længe vil de også være at finde øverst i søgeresultaterne for “brugt b&o” på Google foran spillere der har været på markedet i mange år.
